It features a longer barrel and slide (0.8 inch more) of G17, and the top of the slide and parts of its inside are milled out, creating a conspicuous hole at the top designed to reduce front-end muzzle weight to better balance the pistol and reduce the overall weight of the slide. Although G34 is mainly for sport shooting, some law enforcement used G34 as their side-arm based on its high accuracy.
